The issue in that whole proposition lies within this one single sentence

Business software is written for windows

Nowadays, practically all companies are moving towards either SaaS, or in house web services. The pandemic has killed native enterprise apps, for better or for worse.

Windows only has decent presence because it's reasonably easy to integrated Windows machines into corporate structures. The moment Apple taps into that market, it's all over. We've seen that with Google basically ruining the school market for Microsoft by doing that, and it will happen again.

I don't want to sound like an asshole, but why did you dedicate 20 years to a company? Stuck in a shitty location/education that only gets you employed in a few companies?

Roku explores taking over HDMI feeds with ads (www.lowpass.cc)

Funnily enough, Flipper did exactly that and the Zero is still doing fine. It's a loophole, but it does seem to be working fine-ish.

HDMI Forum have instead resorted to taking GPU manufacturers hostage because they don't want any specs leaking, that's why AMD were denied being allowed to support latest HDMI in their free Linux drivers.

Microsoft to separate Teams and Office globally amid antitrust scrutiny (www.reuters.com)

Microsoft (MSFT.O) will sell its chat and video app Teams separately from its Office product globally, the U.S. tech giant said on Monday, six months after it unbundled the two products in Europe in a bid to avert a possible EU antitrust fine.

this is all well and good when we're talking about a properly elastic market (eg food)

however, the supply of hosted enterprise video conference software is extremely limited (teams, zoom, google meet) and the demand is extremely high

moreover, switching providers and reeducating the staff will also be highly expensive

you can't exactly go anywhere else, you just have to agree to whatever msft is doing

Please, for the love of God, VOTE! (pawb.social)

I don't like Biden either, but anyone with half a brain knows there are two choices in the 2020 election. If we had a sane voting system, voting third party might be worth it, but as it stands, no one but you knows your favorite candidate exists and unless you want to become their campaign manager that will still be true in...

random israelis have as much of a right to live there as palestinians do (and vice versa), it's not written on the land that jewish/arabic/literally whatever else people should be banned from ever living there

the issue is that the israeli government seems to disagree, especially the genocidal maniacs from likud, especially netanyahu

in which apps? anything that runs under xwayland is broken under nvidia at the moment because nvidia don't and can't implement implicit sync which is required for that, resulting in terrible graphical corruption. wait for a few months until explicit sync patches arrive

does graphical corruption happen there too?

Fewer people are using Elon Musk’s X as the platform struggles to attract and keep users, according to analysts (www.nbcnews.com)

Data from two research firms and figures published by Musk and X suggest a deteriorating situation for X by some metrics.
