Cars are the new cell phones. Makes me glad I drive the equivalent of a Nokia 3210.

I wish such a unicorn existed. So I just leave that thang at home when I'm doing hood rat stuff.

OG Nissan Hardbody

@seathru@lemmy.sdf.org avatar

Yeah, here you go. Nothing special, but unmolested ones are getting hard to find. I do hope more of the car community finds it's way here.

Hardbody Nissan. It's kind of a homoerotic name but the 90's were a different time.

That's how it works. TASER became Axom (maker of most body cams).

I couldn't find where to opt-out in that link, but this worked:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Navigate to Security.
  3. Select Find My Device.
  4. Toggle Find My Device to Off.

I use KDE Connect for a simple way to find where I've left my phone at home or work (it has some really handy other features too in an open source program). If you need to locate it anywhere, even if it's in airplane mode, you're probably going to have to sacrifice privacy for that.

WTF are all these "Refresh of version..." updates? Am I unfresh? Do I need to bathe? (probably)

Edit: It's like it saw my post from yesterday and said "oh you like that do you?"

No company is going to legally go to bat for you for $10/mo. I love how Proton nonchalantly calls out the user's dumb move in the article:

Proton provides privacy by default and not anonymity by default because anonymity requires certain user actions to ensure proper OpSec, such as not adding your Apple account as an optional recovery method. Note, Proton does not require adding a recovery address as this information can in theory be turned over under Swiss court order...

@seathru@lemmy.sdf.org avatar

It's best for anonymity to not use one at all. Proton provides a recovery key to allow access to your account if you manage to lock yourself out. Keep that key somewhere safe/secure.

For searches, Kagi.

Edit: I guess Kagi sucks. But I still prefer their search results over DDG.

The biggest hurdle I've ran into is that GPS resolution just isn't accurate enough. If you want something that can follow a planned route without having to rely on a bunch of obstacle avoidance (which is difficult enough in itself) then you'll have to set up some sort of local RTK in conjunction with the GPS.

Currently I'm just setting my mower up like a FPV drone that I can drive around remotely from the comfort of air conditioning. Hoping someone comes out with a good automated solution.

TBF that's my default answer when I'm put on the spot. I ran into a friend from highschool this week and they asked the same. While the answer should have been "I've lived and worked in some really neat places since I saw you last", my brain just spit out "oh, not much".

Same here. Red Hat 5 from the Linux for Dummies book.

Burning man. A bunch of trust fundies trying to out edge each other.

It feels kinda messed up, then, that the people who had been led into this with misplaced trust and false promises are the ones getting the bulk of the punishment, and not the people who sold them on lies in the first place.

I agree. Altho not in the sense that these people are being handed unfair judgement, they've all got off extremely light for the acts they committed. But it is a travesty of justice that the ones instigating it have received little to no punishment.

These people gobbled the propaganda up because it justified their bigotry. So my sympathies are limited.

"While the researchers performed this phishing attack using a Flipper Zero, it could easily be done with other devices like Raspberry Pi and Android phones."

Or like, a laptop. But I guess poor flipper is popular to demonize now.

I've been using the Fossify SMS Messenger for a few weeks now and it does everything I need a messaging app to do.
