the issue I have had with PopOS is multi-monitor support, I cant rotate my rotated second monitor except through the nvidia settings, and my settings get wiped after a reboot, its a known issue for years, other than that I havent had any problems, I have been slowly finding replacement software for everything that I used on windows

The Adobe stuff always held me back before but I finally just started messing with linux and trying stuff out. I don't need photoshop for professional use so I was fine spending the time trying to find alternatives for what I needed

I was in the same boat, I have a dual boot main machine now but I haven't booted I to windows since I installed Pop!OS, I've been mostly just seeing what alternatives to everything so far, especially photo stuff, but I seem to be pretty settled now after messing with popos on a little thin client and little second pc I keep at work

I mean honestly yeah after working multiple jobs for years I had to wake up around 4 to be able to get off work around 2 to make it to my second job at 3 now even though I have a single job I still get up at 4 it's just ingrained at this point, thr benefit is I still get off at 230 and if people want me to stay past that at least it's over time pay

The demand may not be by the end user but by businesses that need to fill stuff with filler text. Say you're working for an automotive company and have to pull off a big email campaign you can use generative ai to help you type up a couple dozen emails, sure they'll be crappy but you finished your work by the deadline so spending the company money for a service like that seems worth it

It's not that they shouldn't be correct it's that people are expected to do the job of multiple people with limited budgets so they contract their work out to services or don't take the time to double check stuff.

When I worked with the marketing people ot was a team of 3 that had to cover the US mexico and Canada, so they would have people on retainer to make things like art or text for a lot of the stuff, but I can see how they could use a service that used ai for those things

Look at what happened with Wacom, so I just see this kind of cost cutting is appealing to businesses that want to cut costs at the expense of quality

I mean there's so many different fridges you can buy but I've only heard of two dying. One was a compressor issue but that's all I know about it. The other one was a valve or something went bad but with the help of youtube my brother was able to diagnose it and replace the part. It depends on the server. Most servers set it to require an email verified account because of all the bots and spammers, I haven't joined any that required a phone number but might if they support a product and want to link your discord to their orders or something

Been finding some good deals on 2.5 disks lately, but have never bought one before. Have a couple of 3.5 disks on the other hand in my Unraid server. Wondering how much it matters wether I get a 2.5 or not? What form factor do you prefer/usually go for?

I recently started getting my drives from serverpartdeals 3.5". The refrubs seem to work great for my use case of just media. I have a second unraid server that is just 2.5" ssd's and 4 nvme's that I use for my personal files and photos since it's a much smaller and low power build I can stuff a bunch in a mini itx case so 2.5" is great for that
