GeneralVincent ,

Thanks for the link to the unbiased study by... the CIA? Huh. Yeah I trust them.

GeneralVincent ,

$10 a can! Even converted, that's $6.63 freedom dollars °•°

GeneralVincent ,

Those poor dogs probably can't even afford buy beer ;~;

GeneralVincent ,

Whoever came up with that tax must be very much disliked in Australia I imagine lmao

GeneralVincent ,

Pretty sure OP isn't Republican, just radical left and dislikes anyone not as far left as they are. Ironic that it's hard to differentiate between far right and far left sometimes

GeneralVincent ,

Of course it's pigeons. We all thought Nikola Tesla was crazy, but he was just ahead of his time with Pigeon Clusters too

Linus Tech Tips (LTT) release investigation results on former accusations (x.com)

There were a series of accusations about our company last August from a former employee. Immediately following these accusations, LMG hired Roper Greyell - a large Vancouver-based law firm specializing in labor and employment law, to conduct a third-party investigation. Their website describes them as “one of the largest...

GeneralVincent ,

Here's an overview by The Verge

But basically it started when Gamers Nexus called out some issues LTT had with testing methodology and also an incident where LTT accidentally auctioned off another companies products that they had reviewed poorly.

Then Linus responded pretty poorly (and ended up stepping down as CEO and is now a chief creative something or other iirc)

Then a former employee tweeted about why she left LTT and accused LTT of having a toxic workplace environment. And specifically said she had been sexually harassed by a coworker but not taken seriously.

There's no court case, LTT just did this to clear their name basically.

GeneralVincent ,

Oh yeah, I think I do remember that announcement being before everything else went down, my bad for misrepresenting that

GeneralVincent ,

ignores science

Can you provide some links to that science?

GeneralVincent ,

I'm not vegan, I eat meat. I ask for evidence because you're clearly biased and using emotionally charged and unscientific language when you dismiss the vegan diet. So I don't believe you have a real understanding of the science or potential nutritional complications.

Don't bother replying with "it's just common sense" reworded for a third time. If you can't provide evidence, that's fine, but you don't need to keep going on your dramatic crusade against something you don't understand in the comments. I'm not asking for your opinion.

GeneralVincent ,

I want literally any evidence. You are clearly incapable of providing any to support your even most basic claim. I'm not arguing against meat, I'm arguing against ignorance and dishonesty. I had rotisserie chicken from Walmart for lunch. If you had provided any source for your claim, I would have read it fully and with an open mind. I'm not biased towards veganism, I wanted to know if the claims you are making have any basis in reality so I can make an informed decision. This is your third comment saying the same thing without evidence, and arguing like a child. I don't mean that to be derogatory either, if you're still in school or a child, that's fine. But I'm not interested in a discussion at that level.

You have shown repeatedly that you can't have an honest discussion and are close minded and conspiratorial. I'm not going to bother replying anymore, it's just getting obnoxious.

GeneralVincent ,

Well this is the technology community. Kinda obvious we're all nerds here, and care about technology 🤷 and we don't really have to look hard lol

GeneralVincent ,

Zionism is a religious and political movement to reclaim Palestine for the Israeli people and views that land as inherently belonging to Jewish people because God said so.

That belief alone is not enough to call it a genocidal ideology. However, because Zionists overwhelmingly "reclaim" the land by terrorizing the current inhabitants, it's not that much of a stretch.

It is also inherently nationalistic and Zionists are inherently colonizers. It's not racist to say that because it's an ideology, and a harmful one.

Just like I'd call all Westboro Baptists bigots. And I'd call any far-right group fascists. The Zionist ideology is the exact same

GeneralVincent ,

That's Kazoo. Kahoots is a Mexican coffee liqueur.

GeneralVincent ,

I'm not seeing the connection between misogyny and eating animals. Are there any better examples?

GeneralVincent ,

Backlash doesn't always mean people are offended/upset. I think most people just recognize this as an ad done in bad taste or even just out of touch.

Bad company makes bad ad, people say it's bad. Sure, kinda pointless to talk about, but it's just another reason not to buy it and tell others not to buy into their anti consumer crap.

After announcing increased prices, Spotify to Pay Songwriters About $150 Million Less Next Year (www.billboard.com)

When Bloomberg reported that Spotify would be upping the cost of its premium subscription from $9.99 to $10.99, and including 15 hours of audiobooks per month in the U.S., the change sounded like a win for songwriters and publishers. Higher subscription prices typically equate to a bump in U.S. mechanical royalties — but not...

GeneralVincent ,

I believe tidal actually has a larger library than Spotify, and offers a tier that lets you listen to higher quality of music. Similar pricing to Spotify I think. I had it for a while and really liked it, only stopped paying for it because I'm broke so I'm sailing the seas for now

GeneralVincent ,

Because companies like to make money by breaking the status quo when there aren't any rules.

It's the thing they like to do most honestly, and why we need to make rules when we see open loopholes

GeneralVincent , (edited )

You said in another comment that Israel is justified in their violence because Hamas is their neighbor that has been launching bombs across the border.

And in this comment you blame Hamas violence on bigotry.

Until you acknowledge the decades of unprovoked violence to the Palestinian people by Israeli settlers, you will not be taken seriously.

Israelis are capable and have shown clear bigotry towards the Palestinians. And Hamas is violent because they were forced to be neighbors with settlers that were often violent.

You can keep pretending to be unbiased, but your bias is showing very clearly.

ETA: so a legend basically :D

GeneralVincent ,

And we all know that they were only hired cuz they're hetero, like I guess they're ok actors but why not hire a REAL actor??

GeneralVincent ,

The difference is that the CCP has a lot of control over Chinese companies operations.

In the US, the companies have a lot of control over the US government.

Ok that's an oversimplification, but it sounded good

GeneralVincent ,

I'm not reading every article you posted cuz I have a life, but this random one I clicked says this

To be clear, the Kremlin’s claims that Ukraine is a hornets’ nest of fascists are false: far-right parties performed poorly in Ukraine’s last parliamentary elections, and Ukrainians reacted with alarm to the National Militia’s demonstration in Kiev.

Yeah, there are neo-nazi fascists in Ukraine. And almost every other country on earth. They have a problem, and the war with Russia made it more difficult for them to deal with it. But unless you can't point me to one article (instead of listing a dozen at a time for some reason) that indicates it's backed by the Ukrainian government, then I don't see why the Ukrainian flag should be included in this meme. The US flag, sure, it looks like one of the articles is suggesting the US has supported fascists in Ukraine. But not Ukraine itself, and Russia is absolutely not invading to defeat the neo-nazis in Ukraine. Especially since Putin has been a textbook fascist since he took office and has barely tried to hide it.

GeneralVincent ,

so you're saying violence should win out

Excellent way to tell everyone you don't care about having an actual conversation and that you're too biased to listen to anyone replying with evidence

Edit: and on the first line! Very efficient strawman

GeneralVincent ,

OP here, I changed my mind because of the way that it is

GeneralVincent ,

The vast majority killed aren't terrorists. Just yesterday, Israel killed seven World Kitchen humanitarian aid workers in their World Kitchen labeled cars that were authorized by Israel to be there. Three cars, targeted one after another, all bombed. The tops of the cars had the logo so they wouldn't be bombed.

The IDF is a terrorist organization

GeneralVincent ,

Yes, they are currently being beaten and killed. Not locked up due to their identity, but it would be actually mind boggling if Trump getting elected was the single thing needed for that to happen.

Yes it could get worse, but everyone gets into a frenzy over a single election every four years and acts like that's the deciding factor for how it will be for the next four years. Everyone should be working together to fix the systemic issues that allows trump to radicalize the right. Focusing on the the cause of the infection, like ranked choice voting, removing the electoral college, better education. Spread those ideas in your community, demand your local representatives push for it in the government, and fight the divisive attitudes.

That's my issue with the Democrats talking points, it's divisive and encourages radicalizing people as much as the Republicans. Because in a two party system, both parties benefit from radicalizing their group against each other. And I am absolutely not saying we tolerate intolerance from the right, but I'm saying there are better ways to fight it than voting for Biden who benefits from the "vote for me or else the bad guys win". There's no accountability, like when he supports a country that's killing thousands of innocent people.

GeneralVincent ,

I think the loss of life, including the oceangate thing, is sad.

I also think the obscenely rich are actively devaluing their own life through their greed, versus this case where people are born into this situation. Some have a kinda 'got what they deserve' attitude for the first (also this community doesn't always agree on how radical it is haha)

GeneralVincent ,

Looking at their account, I'd honestly bet money that they're an apple employee. Half of their posts and comments are about, and very much in favor of, Apple

GeneralVincent ,

Woz doesn't profit from slave labor in China any more than any of us since he hasn't actually worked for Apple since like 1985. Since then, he's started a number of other companies doing a bunch of other stuff, like cleaning space junk most recently

GeneralVincent ,

Horror movie idea, this concept but when the second humans arrive, they find the human civilization that got there first was wiped out before they got there and they don't know why.

GeneralVincent ,

Oh dang, it is. I actually haven't watched planet of the apes tbh

GeneralVincent ,

You fundamentally misunderstood several of my points and I'm assuming it was intentional.

You don't know who makes decisions on algorithms, so you're speculating without evidence.

I'm not surprised Hamas leaders are rich, they've been funded by Israel. Also, good job proving my point that you see any criticism of Israel as Hamas sympathy. That's like assuming every Democrat that criticizes Biden is a secret Republican. That's delusional and undermines your argument.

TikTok censorship has been reported outside of TikTok. Just like other social media. Why even argue on that point? That's something you should latch onto that we actually agree on.

I don't swing from one party to the next. I have moved further and further left BECAUSE of my government. You intentionally missed my point again. I have an excellent understanding of politics and that's WHY I hate the government. TikTok is separate from that entirely. I hate the Chinese government, and the Russian government, and most governments tbh. And we could spend hours discussing my politics, but that's just distracting from my very obvious point.

But maybe TikTok has influenced you towards wanting to destroy your own country.

Never seen a straw man so fragile. You don't know many of the things you claim to know, especially my motivations. But I can guess at your pro Israel intentions

GeneralVincent ,

Thank you for the third party perspective. Maybe I should edit my original comment to be more clear about what I'm trying to say

GeneralVincent ,

God damn. You want full crazy.

Here you go

https://www.timesofisrael.com/for-years-netanyahu-propped-up-hamas-now-its-blown-up-in-our-faces/

I criticize Israel. Not the Jewish as a whole. I'll criticize any country that commits genocide.

By the way, by arguing with me (a gay person) that makes you homophobic. Does that seem silly? It's the same argument you just spent 5 paragraphs trying to make. Get a grip

GeneralVincent ,

-_-

damn you got some long arms, never seen a reach like that before.

This conversation is spiraling. I'm not going to argue with someone who misrepresents my intentions or character. Or someone who blindly defends Israel despite obvious issues with its leadership. We could go in circles forever with your increasingly conspiratorial assumptions and accusations. I'm just gonna end it here before you sprain an ankle jumping to conclusions.

GeneralVincent ,

Because you're advocating for citizens free will over government control, a great concept. But America is an excellent example of a country that worships freedom like a religion but is also high in suicide rates and is falling apart due to unregulated capitalism and freedoms at the expense of common sense.

And I'm American, we think everything is about us
