Both Democrats and Republicans have a vested interest in keeping the system as it is. They won't change it unless citizens make them change it.

Honestly I'm kind of losing hope that it's even possible at this point.

Maybe I'm just cynical. I still vote every chance I get, even for local stuff. I'm a big supporter of approval voting, but I'm not hopeful that it'll become the norm in the US.

No sweetheart, America uses first past the post voting. Voting third party is straight up just throwing your ballot on the trash.

The system is designed to enforce a two party system. If you and people who agree with you start to vote third party then the party you disagree with the MOST gets an advantage. It's called the spoiler effect.

In order to get rid of the two part system you have to get rid of first past the post voting.

Add a strike system for board members and/or executives too. If you're on the board while the company committed the action that got it a strike, you could get a strike too. Too many and you get whatever punishment.

Honestly, if you have a relatively small yard, an electric one works great. I had cheap, battery powered Ryobi mower back when I had a yard. It lasted two years without an issue before I moved and didn't need it anymore. I've definitely had gas mowers that cost more that started needing extra attention after the first year.

Yeah, we're pretty bad a social help in the US. That sounds just send a bunch of people into the streets.

But of course we all know that the big manufacturers don't do this not because they can't but because they don't want to. Planned obsolescence is still very much the name of the game, despite all the bullshit they spout about sustainability.

America definitely has its old, historic churches, but they're far from common.

We have so many other kinds of churches, huge mega churches that essentially have a whole campus. Tiny churches in shopping centers. Growing up I went to a little church that was in the middle of an otherwise normal neighborhood.

There is utility in renting out a space to live in.

Like, even in an ideal scenario it isn't really feasible to sell your house and buy a new one every time you move, if you move around frequently enough.

The problem is when buying a house isn't an option for the vast majority of people who don't move around that much.

No it fucking won't. And it absolutely would make me homeless. I can barely afford to live as is.
And it wouldn't help disabled people avoid homelessness. It would just increase homeless.

Now, walkable cities, public transport, shit like that. Those would make disability less of a factor in homelessness, and it would get people like me to stop driving.

The problem is that shit isn't profitable for the owning class. You're not going to fix an owning class problem by punishing the working class.
