Yup same here. But I've compiled my own kernel already....copy pasting instructions. I've chrooted to a failed X computer from a USB Linux to then fix X and go back to a good computer. I mean there are levels of engagement and it just takes time to learn. But certainly android users are using a Linux-like system themselves not knowing anything about the levels below where all the action is. You can make Linux as dumb as windows 3.0...well maybe not as dumb. And you can make it as configurable as you want. I mean, you could even rewrite all modules and recompile them such that if a virus is hitting all other Ubuntus or mints, your system would be fine because it was different by a single letter or something as such.

Surprise surprise. The CEO of a company I used to work for migrated to Fisker a good 10 years ago. By migrated I mean he injected a shit CEO who then ran down the company into bankruptcy and sold the pieces. This seems appropriate somehow. I mean the guy was alright, it's just that the other junk CEO fucked up the company. Sort of like Google do no evil meets "hey you're running out of the 15gb so I'm deleting your shit next month" CEO.

Let me explain...the same people that brought you windows 3, 95, 98, 2000, nt, XP, etc now want to obtain everything you type via an AI tool they created.

They would know all your health history, everything you scan, your photos relating to family and work secrets, etc. for the corporate, they would know who from LinkedIn will get the job and who will be fired. They will know about layoffs and about business secrets and success. Etc.

It's pretty simple. Rather than just a keylogger, Microsoft wants you to use a smart keylogger that they control. How is that not the dumbest thing to ever use at work? It's gotta be the biggest IT security failure ever.

They don't let you out of the room if you do that one. Plus the annoying little buggers are cute. And then there's the inevitable.... you're fucking getting old. In your 20s you tend to be pretty stupid and learn from that. In your 30s your at the top of your game. I'm your 40s you realize how valuable time is and that you're running out of it. I assume there's some more wisdom to be had between here and 6 feet under. Actually I'm choosing cremation. I want to be a vanilla creme. Why don't they just call it burning of the bodies? They gotta call it cremation because it sounds like ice cream like that. But yeah, when you die you don't take anything with you. So without kids to sell your shit and ruin everything, what's the point? Right?

My mom doesn't even have a computer. She's already retired so there's not much money to squeeze from that demographic. In my late 20s, 30s and 40s I could build a new computer no problem. I use Linux. There's no going back ever. Unfortunately I use windows at work cuz I'm forced to do that and I occasionally have to help my wife to windows some shit. No, my kids are going down the Linux rabbit hole.

There has to be a resistance. Basically all of us who know our way around a computer, we simply quit helping the rest and bam Microsoft is history. And I think that's happening now. I'm simply not going to push that shit into my kid's life. I have a simple mind and I'm simple minded. Here I am typing on a little rectangle of glass and plastic with one finger. I'm writing more than a few words a day to many strangers. There's no need for 15gig or you pay google powered AI one drive shit. You know that. Me, I would like to own my works of art. Wether it's this very response or a photo. I want to know where in my computer the thing is stored and I would like for Microsoft to not have access to it. It's a privacy issue. All the big companies are going to hit the privacy wall soon. Besides their shitty software, they will be hit by legal battles. If they win, we all loose. If they loose, then maybe, just maybe our kids will grow up with computing options that are there to help them and not to take advantage of their labor. Man, I'm willing to stand up in front of a PTA meeting and say this. I'm just tired of these tech corporations running loose and taking away our future. That's all.

Nobody used Adobe whatever 30 years ago and I bet that 30 years ago there were people working on video and graphics to sell products and to make photos 😁. Meaning stop using those tools. The tools don't make the artist.

I don't use Outlook. I haven't used an email app for years. I'm now stuck in Gmail hell with multiple accounts. That's not better. I'm trying to stop using Gmail and go to an open source app with my own server. It can be done. You can live without the Adobe shit. The reason is simple. How many TV commercials have you authored in the past 3 months? I'm guessing 0. I rest my case. Not as an insult, it's just maybe you don't need all the fancy tools. Back when I had a stick shift carburetor car I could understand everything. Now I have a Prius and I understand some of it. The Prius makes it easy to drive and I don't have to think about shifting or anything. But when it comes to the nuts and bolts in a possible moment of need I'm going to be down 1000 bucks or more if the thing stops working in the middle of nowhere. Are you going to loose out if you stop using Adobe apps?

Are you really a better creator if you push a button to create vs someone who spends a year on a single static painting? Sure you'll die on hunger these days and I understand that. But using Adobe crap won't get you past AI. Soon I'll be able to just ask AI to make me a Bruce Willis movie about a regular guy who happens to be a really good mechanic with a military past with secret ties to the CIA, and I'll be be watching the best movie he ever made past his retirement. What are you going to do? Press a button to hopefully make a swirl better? Nah. Artists talent comes from knowing the nuts and bolts of the things you do.

It looks like an improvement 😔. I mean fuck! I can't even limbo that low much less get up from 0 to upright folding my legs around like that. But my face lamp is pretty bright! Just upgraded to LEDs and now I'm like a walking sun. I think they just copied me like that. And I got two ears not just one lowly antenna. So that's not an upgrade.

Now they just need a silicone dildo, some silicone glue and a famous pornstar actress. That would sell a lot of droids this Christmas.     It's a Linux app but runs on almost all platforms. I have it on my phone and my windows PC as well as my dial boot Linux on the same PC. It's looks like the xbox interface (I don't have one so I would know). You can get all sorts of things on it like a video library, automatic episode downloads, illegal downloads, porn, etc, Netflix.
