After months of waiting, I finally got myself an instance with Libre Cloud. I was expecting basic file storage with a few goodies but boy, this is soooo much more. I am amaze by how complete this is!!! Apps let me configure my instance to fit everything I need, my workflow is now crazy fast and I can finally say goodbye to...

Looking for Cloud Storage Replacement, but I don't like NextCloud

I'm looking for something to replace cloud storage for myself and family. I've tried to use/like NextCloud but honestly I despise it. The UI/UX really bothers me, and administering it is a pain. It also just does way more that I want or need....

In germany we had subsidies for hybrid company cars, so companies bought hybrids. But: If employees would charge these in their home garage, they would pay for the electricity. If they get gas, the company pays. So they are practically just regular cars with a ton (probably literally) of extra weight. Unfortunately there's barely a single law related to cars in germany that makes any sense (apart from just randomly gifting tax payer money to car companies). It's like gun laws in the US. The area-wide corruption is immense.

Would buy an AMD based T14s or T14 but they removed the rj45 connector from them and I won't pay that money for a childrens toy. For some reason, some intel models still have it. Why??

Is osmand normally terrible?

I just tried osmand. It took forever to locate me and then the map would freeze for minutes, then the blue arrow would finally jump to my location. It seems useless for real time navigation, is that normal? Google maps works fine on the phone (Android) so it's not the hardware. Is there maybe some setting I haven't found?...

Afaik there are two location permission levels in android, one that only allows GPS which is often really slow and inaccurare and one that uses cell and wifi as well which is quick and accurate. Maybe OsmAND is not allowes to use the accurate location on your phone?

I'm on lineage microG and I've got the opposite experience! Some apps really struggle with getting my location while OsmAND always works like a charm. I also use organic maps for quick routing, because the map rendering is MUCH faster and it consumes less battery power.

The problem is (at least on android by default) the difference between turning off a timer (losing your job and your wife and becoming homeless) or hitting snooze is literally swiping to the left or to the right. While you are basically still asleep. That is literally the dumbest fucking horse shit UX every created and that's why multiple timers are needed so you can either snooze or turn the alarm off and still get a second chance for not becoming homeless.

Yes, some variation is good! Also pick a slightly different interval than the snooze time, so if you hit snooze it is triggered twice xD

I love it and use it all the time, especially calc. But one thing I'd really like to see is a fix for the fact that the icons up top look absolutely horrendous on high DPI screens, no matte the icon theme used (svg or not).

I think that is actually true. The average poor republican doesn't want to be wealthy, if that would mean that <insert minority of your choice> would also become more wealthy or have more rights. This also applies to other political subjects. I mean a poor republican who works a terribly paying job with no worker rights or healthcare would actively vote against politicians who say they'd want to change that situation, just to make sure that underage girls that got raped are forced to give birth to their unwanted childs they then can't provide for.

    Now it's two. But they are probably not billionairs but just people who think one can rightfully earn 1000 Million with honest work, by contributing something good to society or something. Or they believe they will become billionairs too at some point if they work hard enough to make their employer rich.

    The "journalism" about israel/gaza here in germany is a complete shame across the board. German media, even (or especially) the publicly funded media, literally try to hide the discussions that the rest of the world is having about this war.     And of course they are failing. Also, whenever something happens that they can't ignore, they use euphemisms to describe war crimes of the israli side instead of just stating the facts. Many journalists are literally scared to lose their jobs if they report to honestly about this conflict. It's insane.
