I use following feed the most, but now that I think about it I need to check out the other feeds more often to find interesting follows. Same goes for trending and discover features, yeah, I'm on Pixeldroid. I rarely use the web too.
Slightly off topic but thanks for the reminder that I have a Pixelfed account lol. I really need to find more accounts to follow, my feed is basically two accounts posting photos
Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn't work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !lemmyvision
My friends and I were trying to figure out how to set up an isolated WWW resistant to censorship and found identi.ca.
We set up an instance but never federated and used to to send memes to each other for years.
I did create an account on one of the federating services but it was rough back then. No one was tagging their post languages so it was like 10 or so different languages mixed together. I loved it.
Because while I find Lemmy great, it's not for everyone. Some of that is the people, some of that the form factor. With PixelFed groups, we'll have a new influx of users and groups to interact with. What's not exciting about that?
Same idea as new-reddit with its 'views'. It doesn't make sense how some post on a local subreddit gets a few hundred impressions immediately, even when posted at 4am. Meanwhile the actual organic comments on the same post follow the average human wake/sleep cycle
I wonder if advertisers are also fooled by those numbers, or if they use a different way of measuring
