I want to own a home, so my plan includes figuring out where I need to move to make that possible because where I live right now it's literally impossible as a single person.

There is literally no such thing as too much money in our society.

There are also so many "skills/abilities" that aren't something you learn in school.

I've found through my experience that I tend to be a more "valuable" employee because not only do I actually give a shit about what I do, but I also care to ask questions and actually learn about my position and how other positions play into my role. I'm not trying to pat myself on the back, it's just something I've noticed very very very few people I've worked with do as well.

That's not something I'll ever get paid more for because it's not written on a stupid piece of paper certified by some expensive university, but it's 100% beneficial to the company.

Which is exactly why I actually bought 10 instead of cheating an upgrade "hack" I figured out with XP that I then carried over to 10. I figured if it's actually the last then it's worth the 500 fucking dollars or whatever the hell it cost back then.

I want to give the benefit of the doubt and say they are concerned about getting programs running all over the country that can somehow "backdoor" a major issue into our network, but I not only don't know enough about how feasible that is, I also strongly believe it's as you feared. It's what we get the government to do all the time: fuck with other countries to "protect" our major corporations...

Pretty much the story of my friend. He makes a ton of money as a computer scientist, but he worked for it as far as his education went. He just had a stable family to live with so no rent, he had a father who got him a job which paid like full time but allowed a flexible schedule, paid for his car and phone, etc...

He studied his ass off and was always at the school, but it's because he had the support to be able to do that. We literally live opposite lives in almost every respect. I had none of what he had and so I'm stuck working in a factory living in someone's garage. I couldn't dedicate the time for what I thought I wanted and couldn't risk spending the money to try as I have to move way too often and need a hefty savings for first month, security, broker fee... Being poor is expensive lol

It really blows my mind that people get stuck in this "that's the way it should be" mindset.

You know that with more exposure your comment would attract tons of replies about "you're lazy, 40 hours is the minimum you should work! You just want life handed to you for 5 hours of work." Completely ignoring that 40 hours a week was "recently" changed to be the norm and only because the owners realized that the workers need time to buy and use their products so that they can sell more...

There's nothing natural about 40 hours weeks let alone 90...

I used the quotes because seeing her condition before I can't imagine she's going to be 100% better. I just meant to ask if her condition improved at all that she would be able to make another video knowing that ok isn't going to mean perfectly healthy. The long covid quotation was just because that's what we call it colloquially but I don't think that's a real diagnosis. I'm not a covid denyer or anything lol

Seeing another comment though I see the video being discussed was before she got sick.

Oooooo. I might try these! I'm not a cyclist, but I have a bit of an anxiety issue where I can't have a sense completely cut off from the outside. I feel very uncomfortable when I have both ears covered and can't really sense my environment.

I really want a VR set, but I know I won't like having my vision cut off from "reality." Stupid anxiety lol

The shitheads chase off women who are sick of getting tons of these messages (they guys don't care that they're causing that issue, they just "play the numbers game" to get their dick wet) and Match group chases away everyone who doesn't want Tinder 2.0 because they buy every competitor and then enshittify every site they gain ownership of to become a tinder clone.

I just want a goddamn site where people make profiles that are more than 2-3 sentences of "I love dogs. I love tacos. I love to travel." and maybe just mayyyybe don't aim to become a fucking influencer streaming platform? I'm looking at you plenty of fish...

I never liked hinge because of the Twitter like character limit. It forced short profiles so everyone just puts the bare minimum instead of trying to pack information into a limited space.

I really liked Okcupid until they absolutely drove it into the ground... All they did was remove useful features and force the "swipe only" method so that you'd spend forever swiping and hopefully pay them to see who liked you since you cant do any sort of search to find someone you might be interested in.

I never understood how this was supposed to work. My job isn't a "union shop" so I have to quit? There's no way in hell this factory in Trumpville NY is going to get behind the idea of unionizing.

I didn't want to be too specific, just to say everyone here is super conservative so I'm assuming my only option if I wanted to be part of a union that could do anything for me would be to leave this job for one where the workers are on board with having a union.

I'm completely ignorant to the process though which was why I asked.

One thing I never understood was how any of it could be taken seriously if I could do literally anything and then go to confession and it's all ok. Like imagine the absolute most atrocious thing one could do, then admit you did it to a priest, and you're good? What if you just did that over and over again?

I'm not looking to "slam" Christianity, I'm just curious about that part.

The concept of "works" without knowing that term exactly was always how I explained myself: in that I may not have any faith, but if any of this is real I should be judged by my actions regardless of what I believe to be true.

It's still impossible to get a rope through the eye of a needle unless a rope and a thread can be used interchangeably. I'm not much of a language expert to say for sure lol
