The UK really has become an unmitigated shithole ever since the conservatives managed to make Brexit a reality.
Nowadays I appreciate the island for having the decency not to touch us, and to serve as both a warning and an example to Europeans about what could happen on the mainland if we let it.

It's also a tried and true strategy that brought Microsoft to the spot it is now. Evil and corrupt, but very effective. Only eee (embrace, extend, extinguish) is even more insidious because it requires companies to play the long con.

Then again in 2024, I automatically assume "con" first until I see evidence to the contrary.

I didn't delete my comments before nuking my account, but I'm pretty sure the grand majority were shitposts containing ample amounts of smut, gore and other ridiculous over the top shit. So I consider this a win.

Unfortunately, being firmly from a working class family, I can guarantee you that we plebs struggle with the exact same things + actual poverty (not being able to go to a doctor,...).

I wish I could say we're magically happy for every crumb thrown our way, but we all realize we are scrawny mice at best while the world is ruled by cats.

No, but there's a big difference between a societal paradigm that overrides natural human compassion with, well, the exact opposite and then incentivizes the entire population to participate, or a society in which greed is greed rather than some overarching be-all end-all goal.

Cfr I clipped a motorcycle with my car a few years ago. Guy broke his leg and totaled the bike and my car. You better believe I'll feel guilty for that one until the day I die.

I guess my mistake was simply not being attentive enough to the road. I wasn't speeding, I wasn't under the influence (it happened as I was trying to pull in to my work's driveway), I wasn't sleepy or tired. I simply somehow did not see the motorcycle coming towards me.
There was no malice involved, nor negligence, but it's still my responsibility to pay attention to all hazards on the road and act accordingly.

Beats me. I've been at my current company for almost a decade and never once got bad feedback, but I'm still convinced they only tolerate me and will eventually find a way to cut me off.

No indication, just my broken brain being unable to grasp someone could actually value me, since I have no idea how to do that myself.

EULAs and TOSes are as legally binding as a secondhand piece of toiletpaper with a contract written in shit.
Almost every single one will be thrown out in court.
The problem is getting to that point in the first place, and incurring the (time, effort & money) costs while enduring. Most common people can't afford that, which the companies know, so they keep making unenforceable EULAs.

All in all, it’s harder to find symbolism here that actually reads as straight rather than lgbtq.

It's much harder to come up with something genuinely more gay. This is possibly the gayest image I have ever seen.

It's gotten to the point that whenever people see Teslas, they automatically start laughing.

Tesla also seems to have taken over the "douchebag driver" stereotype that used to be reserved for BMW's and Mercedeses.

Hahah, this reminds me of that time (long ago) when a very old version of our software would also simply crash when attempting to use it on a leap day. When customers called in, all we could do was tell them to wait until tomorrow, and that the problem wouldn't return for at least another four years.

This is pretty much how my relationship with my SO started. I just came out of a bad relationship where I was cheated on and met her, and told her in no uncertain terms I was looking for nsa fun and nothing else.

That was in 2008. Never married but still (happily) together with a 13yo son.

And since we only have one son he's automatically sole heir so marriage wouldn't change that.

Should I come into a few thousand unexpectedly I wouldn't mind putting a ring on it at all. My intentions remain the exact same either way.
