I’m just your average Canadian wolf. I’m a siren enthusiast and railfan as my main hobbies. I run the Civil Defense Sirens Wiki, and am working on restoring a few vintage sirens (such as a FS&S Model L and a rare Sterling Siren MOD. F) as well as a 1970s Safetran mechanical crossing bell.

Child's play. Find and shoot the nearest transformer and make an impromptu neighbourhood fireworks show.

Nothing fascist about this, the article is just plain stupid and pushing a shitty agenda. Calling everything fascist removes the word's meaning and impact.

The locomotive had long passed in the video of the incident, it just kept driving towards the train until it swerved and nearly took out a crossing signal. Funny as that would be, I doubt the ditch lights were the cause.

You're welcome.

Streetlight Manifesto is one of the few bands I go out of my way to listen to every song on every album, because they're that good and have almost no bad songs. I can't wait for the next album that's supposed to drop this year.

Edit: Beast in Black too.

Children can't do that if you're a responsible parent that keeps an eye on what their child is doing. Y'know, the bare minimum of parenting.

Generative AI Is Coming To Your Home Appliances (www.forbes.com)

Across all industries, organizations are rapidly embracing generative AI. Among them, makers of home appliances like fridges and ovens. Generative AI in your oven? Why not? Ater all, AI has been creeping into our homes for years (think smart lightbulbs and Alexa) – but thanks to generative AI, these interactions will become...

It takes more time and effort to access and wait for the AI than it would to just open the damn fridge. Why make things more complicated than they need to be?

I'm a fan sleeper. I need the rush of cool air and the noise to sleep comfortably, otherwise I wake up sweating and uncomfortable.

Fewer people are using Elon Musk’s X as the platform struggles to attract and keep users, according to analysts (www.nbcnews.com)

Data from two research firms and figures published by Musk and X suggest a deteriorating situation for X by some metrics. Musk has marketed it as the world’s “town square,” but in number of users it continues to lag far behind social media rivals that focus on video, such as Instagram and TikTok. ...

What you're describing is the Backwards Long Jump. Due to developer oversight, Mario doesn't have a maximum speed going in reverse. Mario can long jump repeatedly in reverse against stairs and similar collision, causing him to build up a ridiculous amount of speed until he's going so fast that he bypasses the wall collision. He's on one side of the wall on one frame, and on the other side by the next. Since the game only checks his collision every 4 frames, he goes right through.

Weed doesn't magically make you less hostile of a person. If that were the case Canada would be a hell of a lot better than it is now, and it isn't.

AI-generated content and other unfavorable practices have put longtime staple CNET on Wikipedia's blacklisted sources (www.tomshardware.com)

In the wave of AI controversies and lawsuits, CNET has been publicly admonished since it first started posting thinly-veiled AI-generated content on its site in late 2022— a scandal that has culminated in the site being demoted from Trusted to Untrusted Sources on Wikipedia....

They're not useful for anything besides comparing individual parts with other parts of the same model. UBM heavily skews the results to favour Intel by heavily favouring single core performance over multicore performance, and they adjust it further if AMD dares perform better. It's useless as an actual benchmarking site.

I snuck up right behind them and they were none the wiser

I copied their film and shared it, and screwed the advertisers
