I understand your sentiment but please don't put words in my mouth. The topic of the meme was old men, I talked about old men. I know lots of women and minorities and other disenfranchised groups that are armed as well. And young men, but honestly few demographics are more armed than old men in my arsa. Also I have lived in many different places than where I'm living now.

I got the same response when I was helping a neighbor who needed electric repairs and had to shut off all of his power for a week. A cop saw an extension cord running between our very close homes and at least he warned us to disconnect immediately and if they saw it again they'd shut off our power.

Oh man I work with a food pantry that serves a weekly free meal and we've been trying to get a commercial fire suppression system for many months now. The county and township have been making it as difficult and slow as possible. And really expensive.

The vast majority of pastors are volunteers or bi-vocational. And yes there are abuses. But also lots of them giving their time and resources to care for the under-resourced. My church''s sr. pastor is going from full time to bi-vocational this year because inflation hit the church and his family. But our church distributed 12 million pounds of food since covid

The tithe doesn't go to a pastor, it goes to fund the whole ministry. People working full time deserve a living wage, he's no different. Most Christians don't tithe anyway, it's usually 15% of the people giving 85% of the funds.

Our church distributed those millions of pounds of food on a $350k total budget each year which includes still paying mortgage on an under-maintained property. The total payroll and benefits for two full time and four part time staff was $165k last year. I don't think they're robbing people who chose to support that.

In a place with essentially nothing but narrow two lane roads, no bike lanes or sidewalks, a little wider might serve some good. Adding a turn lane and a bike lane would free up tons of traffic.

Doubt. This doesn't take weather into account. There are always cold spots even in hot years. Plus, even in warming cycles you still set years that are a little below average. My area was below average in 2023. It's just weather cycles but we need to communicate climate reality more accurately.

The cycling in my area has increased infinitely from 0 to 1. After fifteen years of not once seeing a bike commuter, I now see one almost every week. He usually has about 50 cars lined up behind him trying to get around, I had to pass him three times one day taking my daughter to school because he doesn't stop at the lights.

He wars bright yellow reflective gear but I still fear for his life, a number of roads around here have bikes painted white on the shoulder in memory of someone who died. Maybe if he keeps slowing down cops and government types we will get bike lanes someday. I can dream anyway.

The last time I had to drop off my car at the nearest tire shop and walked the 1.5 miles on the dangerous road to get to my quiet road I had three different people stop to offer me a ride to get me out of danger. It's just two narrow lanes and a ditch and cars going 45-55 mph. You 100% can't ride a bike on it, I've seen one in 17 years.

I used to be pretty big into Reddit. I haven't been back in almost a year except a couple of google search results. I do notice a difference though. There is less diversity in expressed thoughts here. I don't miss the doomscrolling though, I can run out of new content here and I like that.

Windows 10 has support into next year. Personally I use Linux and Windows but I'm sticking with gaming on Windows until support runs out. I think next year will be the year of linux
