America out there doing it before it was cool.

psmgx ,

You exist because we allow it, and will end because will demand it.

psmgx ,

Make. Install. Clean. Good tasks for the wife

psmgx ,

A twitter / Reddit wannabe, but for the Trump crowd

Redundant, given the direction of Elons Twitter, and Trumps rapidly imploding truth social

psmgx ,

But seriously, your cats are fucking the ecosystem up

psmgx ,

They'd be a lion, if they could, essentially

Why do we have to do the health insurance company's job for them?

Just so tired of almost every time a doctor submits stuff to insurance, we have to be the ones to make multiple phone calls to both the doctor's office and insurance to iron everything out, figure out what the issue is (it's always a different issue), and basically be the go-between for the office and insurance. What am I...

psmgx ,

The amount of emotional energy we have to spend untangling this stuff leaves us drained.

That's the point. Take a look at the Fortune 500 and Global 500, and notice how many of them are US healthcare companies. No company gets that big doing all the work themselves...

psmgx ,

Nope. Given how many Americans are obese as shit, believe in angels, and are obliterating public education... That's probably a good thing.

psmgx ,

Offshoring continues to reap dividends. Only thing that's going to stop that is AI, and that means no one, here nor there, will have jobs

psmgx ,

That was hisbacenin the hole for paying that judgement, too.

Cue sad trombone sounds...

psmgx ,

She's been saying that for years, IIRC

psmgx ,

Yeah I did. God bless WineDB.

Steam before proton was okay for stuff like Fallout 3. Needed some hackery with Wine prefixes and getting the right DLLs in there but eventually worked. Older GoG games like Alpha Centauri were fine with DosBox.

Proton is great. Cyberpunk 2077 on Ultra.

psmgx ,

One even pseudo-related vid and they'll spam you. Esp if you're in a region where Jesus sells pretty well. I got a ton of that shit when I was in Kansas city for work.

Plus YT is a business, and for the right price they'll show whatever people pay them to show. Welcome to the cyberpunk dystopia

psmgx ,

I use Firefox for most purposes, but have chromium on there for anything related to grad school. Which includes, among other things, Office 365 and Outlook Online. On Fedora 38 if it matters.

Used to use Thunderbird with enigmail for PGP back in the day, it was good. The separate browser is fine now, but T bird is a fine option.

psmgx ,

Dale Gribble would definitely be all about Alex Jones and Q-Anon

psmgx ,

Aye. Most of the good / bad responses in games are like "flatter and cuddle" vs "spit in the face, and threaten sodomy". As Yahtzee said it's eating babies or saving babies, and no nuance.

Really evil is being friendly while lying to their face, then blowing up planet. Planescape Torment had the (lie) responses that were the closest I've seen.

psmgx ,

I'd have expected ChatGPT to be able to call out power factor as well. Otherwise you're getting volt-amps, not true wattage

psmgx ,

Huh doesn't require enterprise subscription to see that solution

psmgx ,

X is one of his older websites, a financial platform that he created after his first startup was sold. Name comes from "X marks the spot" from old treasure maps, was to be the place for all transactions.

It struggled and didn't really get off the ground, but was able to merge with another platform called Confinity, run by Peter Thiel. The merged platforms then became PayPal, and made both guys rich as shit. Thiel eventually power played Musk and got him kicked out of the company, arguably for good reason, though Thiel is quite a piece of work, too.

The new X is Musk's attempt to make twitter more like his old site, and is why he was throwing around things like making it a peer to peer payment site, similar to WeChat / WePay or Venmo. How he plans to make tweets into bank transfers I've got no idea, esp. when losing 30 percent of users.

Any time something gets too big it gets bots

Dead internet theory, summed up in a sentence

psmgx ,

Separate subsets, segregated traffic. Easy to avoid crosstalk by setting channels further apart or using 2.4ghz and 5ghz

At home I have one SSID as a main wifi, and the other is guest wifi and IoT or other random devices.

Main downside is getting it setup and maintenance.

psmgx ,

Accelerationism is literally foreign propaganda, and has its roots in a few European leftists that had their views hijacked as a way of pushing radicalisation to status quo liberals.

psmgx ,

Coming? Mon Ami they're already here, and I mean literally here, like on Lemmy, Hacker News, and Reddit, on top of all of the other common social media platforms.

psmgx ,

If you search for delete all comments you can usually find some js, or greasemonkey pattern, or script, etc.

I've had success using random howtos there. This new TOS change is news to me and I may delete everything again, will share what I used if/when

Tompkins, Saskatchewan

Ohhhh you're near Medicine Hat and the highway. That kinda makes sense now.

psmgx ,

At this point pretty much all BOH staff in any resto are packing tons of tats. Probably easier to count the ones who don't

psmgx , (edited )

As someone else put it, it's for making sure your wife doesn't get suspicious of the weird ads you're getting, and when she checks the browser history it's clean.

Meanwhile Google, your ISP, and the NSA all know you're looking at freaky old lady bondage porn.

The NDPD is a strategic resource and there is little doubt it is guarded jealously by the boys at Ft. Meade

IBM doesn't make stuff, just invent and own IP. And now they don't even invent.

psmgx ,

Aka what happens when you listen to Jordan Peterson
